Mittaphap International is dedicated to supporting education and sustainable development across communities in Cambodia and Laos. We focus on providing local youth with access to learning resources, language skills, and community-driven development projects to build a self-sustaining future.
We operate primary volunteer hubs in two locations:
- Cambodia: Based in Siem Reap, near Preah Dak village (approximately 12 km from Angkor Wat).
- Laos: Based in Vang Vieng, inside Nathong Village (located 7 km outside the town center, right next to Blue Lagoon 1).
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who are passionate about education and sustainability. While prior teaching or development experience is helpful, it is not required. We look for individuals who are adaptable, open-minded, and committed to making a positive impact on local communities.
Transparency is central to our operations. 100% of the financial contributions receive through our Giving program go directly toward funding educational materials, maintaining school facilities, and supporting sustainable local community initiatives in our target villages in Laos and Cambodia.

We ensure our volunteers are safely and comfortably housed during their stay. Depending on the location, accommodations range from shared volunteer guest houses to community homestays. We provide nutritious, locally prepared meals daily, offering volunteers an authentic taste of traditional Cambodian and Lao cuisine while accommodating basic dietary restrictions.
Our programs are highly flexible. Volunteers can join us for durations ranging from a minimum of 2 weeks up to several months. Since our initiatives run year-round, you can generally choose your own start and end dates, though we recommend aligning your arrival with the start of a school term for the best integration.
Safety is our absolute priority. Both Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Vang Vieng (Laos) are well-established, traveler-friendly communities. Mittaphap International provides a comprehensive on-site orientation upon arrival, 24/7 emergency support from our local coordinators, and safe transport arrangements to and from project sites.
Yes! We warmly welcome custom groups, university teams, families, and corporate organizations. If you are planning to volunteer as a group, please contact us at least 2 to 3 months in advance so we can tailor a sustainable community project that matches your group’s size, skill sets, and timeline.
